Bloody Disgusting reports that FINAL DESTINATION 5 is now being called 5NAL DESTINATION. Weird, huh? I’m not sure how I’m supposed to pronounce that, is it final or five-nal? Is the 5 really that necessary? New Line Cinema sure thinks so.
The folks over at Bloody Disgusting have also uncovered the opening disaster for the film. This time, death will take its victims in an accident involving a collapsing suspension bridge. Okay, that sounds pretty sweet. As anyone who’s seen the previous movies knows, the first sequence is always full of massive destruction, blood and guts. From there, the survivors have to escape death. The first flick had a plane crash, the second a highway pile-up, the third a roller coaster malfunction and the fourth a race car catastrophe. The formula hasn’t changed at all since the original film but fans seem to gobble it up.
Steven Quale is set to direct 5NAL DESTINATION, which is scheduled for a 3D opening in August 2011. Sources say the new title is tentative but I pray it stays this way just so I can hear theater employees try and pronounce it.
