Oh no, blue flames! You don’t want to mess with blue flames.
I recently saw the trailer for D.J. Caruso’s I AM NUMBER FOUR and was pleasantly surprised. Sure, it doesn’t look like an Oscar contender but I’m still intrigued. Caruso’s done some good stuff with his work on THE SHIELD and later DISTURBIA and the plot seems appealing. I’m going to go ahead and say it: I’m kind of looking forward to this movie.
Here’s a synopsis for the film:
Three are dead. Who is Number Four? D.J. Caruso (“Eagle Eye,” “Disturbia”) helms an action-packed thriller about an extraordinary teen, John Smith (Alex Pettyfer), who is a fugitive on the run from ruthless enemies sent to destroy him. Changing his identity, moving from town to town with his guardian Henri (Timothy Olyphant), John is always the new kid with no ties to his past. In the small Ohio town he now calls home, John encounters unexpected, life-changing events—his first love (Dianna Agron), powerful new abilities and a connection to the others who share his incredible destiny.
That new poster above isn’t that exciting, just a glimpse of Alex Pettyfer and his flaming blue hands. The movie opens February 18 so there’s bound to be more information on I AM NUMBER FOUR popping up soon.
There’s a lot working in the movie’s favor. It’s directed by a competent guy, produced by Michael Bay and starring one of the hottest actors around (according to my girlfriend). Plus, Timothy Olyphant. However, it could easily be a complete waste of time.
I’ve embedded the first trailer below. What do you think, am I going to be horribly let down?
Thanks to Collider for the poster!
