New high-res images from TINTIN are gorgeous

Last month, we reported on Empire’s exclusive images from THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN: THE SECRET OF THE UNICORN, the Peter Jackson/Steven Spielberg collaboration that everyone is excited for. We all know that the movie will look good but with the release of new high-resolution photos, we can see just how good.

These shots are the polished versions of those floating around the net last month. Looking at these, you can see how the animation is head and shoulders above most. We finally get a better look at Jamie Bell’s Tintin (he’s the one with the gun) plus the twins Thompson and Thompson (Nick Frost and Simon Pegg) and Silk (Toby Jones). We even get a beautiful desert shot with Tintin and Captain Haddock (Andy Serkis). Even if you don’t know who those characters are you can admire the eye-popping beauty of them.

As every movie fan knows, THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN: THE SECRET OF THE UNICORN opens on December 28, 2011. Hey, that’s less than a year away! I don’t think I’ve ever been as excited for a motion-captured 3D film.
