TNT is amping up its advertisements for the new original series FALLING SKIES. If you haven’t heard (you’ve heard), the show is produced by Steven Spielberg and follows the lives of survivors after a massive alien invasion. As you’ve suspected, they plan to fight back.
These new posters (debuting over at AICN) for the show provide great visuals. Giant alien ships dominating the sky, little children living in a new world, some guy with an extra-terrestrial spine. Absolutely better than a bunch of floating heads of bad photoshop. They remind me of DISTRICT 9 or The Tripods Trilogy by John Christopher. Either way, I like what I see.
TNT has a lot riding on FALLING SKIES. They’ve put much time, money and effort into the production and are hoping it pays off. Will viewers flock to see humans do battle with aliens? Most people weren’t too keen on ABC’s V. Maybe FALLING SKIES will have more luck, it definitely has better posters.
The show, starring Noah Wyle among others, premieres June 19. Here’s an official synopsis for the curious:
After an all-out invasion of the planet by an alien military force, ordinary people must do extraordinary things to survive in TNT’s powerful new drama series from DreamWorks Television and executive producer Steven Spielberg, starring Noah Wyle. FALLING SKIES opens in the chaotic aftermath of an alien attack that has left most of the world completely incapacitated. In the six months since the initial invasion, the few survivors have banded together outside major cities to begin the difficult task of fighting back. The series combines stunning visual effects and personal human stories about triumph and survival in the most devastating circumstances.
