If you were a rich man, you might want to consider picking up FIDDLER ON THE ROOF: 40th ANNIVERSARY EDITION, which releases next week on April 5th. Here’s a clip:
Marvel’s next animated feature THOR: TALES OF ASGARD releases May 17th. This animated movie tells the story of the Norse god prior to the upcoming live-action film and before he got his hammer. Here’s a bit more:
Hungry for adventure, Thor secretly embarks on the journey of a lifetime, joined by his loyal brother Loki, whose budding sorcery equips him with just enough magic to conjure up trouble, along with the Warriors Three – a band of boastful travelers reluctant to set sail on any adventure that might actually be dangerous. But what starts out as a harmless treasure hunt quickly turns deadly, and Thor must now prove himself worthy of the destiny he covets by saving Asgard itself.
The recent Marvel and DC animated features have been pretty excellent and usually have a whole host of features (I’d recommend BATMAN: UNDER THE READ HOOD if you haven’t seen it), and Thor is no exception. The blu-ray features mulitple commentaries from the screenwriter, supervising directors and producers, as well as animation directors and character designers. Apart from this, there’s also a making-of featurette of the film.
Check out this clip from the movie, which teaches you what happens when you take a wolf’s beer:
Next, we’ve got the Gnome-tastic GNOMEO & JULIET, which releases on 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Download on May 24th. The film, which features the voices of Emily Blunt and James McAvoy as two star crossed lawn gnomes features new music from Elton John. The blu-ray features alternate endings and six deleted scenes.
