I was really, really set on not being excited for TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON. After the trainwreck (or car crash) that was REVENGE OF THE FALLEN, I just couldn’t muster excitement for Michael Bay’s next alien/robot explosion-fest.
That was before today’s new trailer. God damn, this is a fine, fine preview.
We see a lot here. We see LA being destroyed, we see robots emerging from the moon and of course we see Shia LaBeouf in imminent danger with new girlfriend Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
Great, great trailer. But will it be good? I hope so. Yet, every TRANSFORMERS trailer (even the ones for REVENGE OF THE FALLEN) were pretty well done so I’m withholding judgement. Perhaps this will be like BATTLE: LOS ANGLES: great trailer, bad movie.
TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON opens July 1st. Head over to Apple to see the trailer in HD. I’ve embedded it and the first plot synopsis below.
When a mysterious event from Earth’s past erupts into the present day it threatens to bring a war to Earth so big that the Transformers alone will not be able to save us. The movie stars Shia LaBeouf, John Turturro, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Patrick Dempsey, Kevin Dunn, with John Malkovich and Frances McDormand.
