It’s been the stuff of rumor and speculation over the past month. I’d be lying if I didn’t say I wanted to boldly ask Quentin Tarantino about his next project when I attended the KILL BILL: THE WHOLE BLOODY AFFAIR screening at the New Beverly last month. Good things come to those who wait! Variety is reporting that Tarantino has written and will direct the spaghetti western homage DJANGO UNCHAINED.
Even though no casting choices have been made yet, the rumors have been swirling that he will reunite with his INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS star Christoph Waltz (who can currently be seen in the wonderful WATER FOR ELEPHANTS). Tarantino will be re-teaming with his longtime collaborating producers The Weinstein’s and Stacey Sher (through The Weinstein Company shingle naturally).
One fun tidbit to keep us salivating until the film’s release, DJANGO’s front page was leaked by fansite The Quentin Tarantino Archives, coming from Tarantino’s “last draft” completed on April 26. You can check it out below thanks to the fansite. Production is expected to start this summer or fall.
As most of us who are fans of Tarantino already know, the guy is a total film buff. I can’t think of anyone better to write and direct an homage to the spaghetti western films of the 60’s. I am totally geeking out over this official word. What are your thoughts?
