EW is reporting that the BONES panel with series stars and David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel and show creator Hart Hanson has been canceled due to “personal reasons”. The panel was also supposed to serve as an introduction to SDCC for the Hanson produced BONES spinoff, THE FINDER and its stars, Geoff Stults and Michael Clarke Duncan. No word yet if THE FINDER portion of the panel will be re-scheduled.
The panel was set for Thursday at 1:45 in Ballroom 20. Fox is not expected to fill the slot with a replacement so THE FINDER won’t likely get the chance to spread its wings and fill the slot left vacant by the BONES crew. THE FINDER debuted last season in the BONES episode, “The Finder” as a back door pilot.
BONES is set to enter it’s seventh season with main characters Dr. Temperance “Bones” Brennan and Agent Seeley Booth expecting a child, a left turn in their relationship that was revealed at the end of last season so fan interest would have been higher than normal for the already popular panel.
UPDATE: In related news, Deadline is reporting that Mercedes Masohn (CHUCK) and 16 year old newbie Maddie Hasson have been added to the cast of THE SEEKER to replace Saffron Burrows, who was not retained after the “pilot”. Masohn and Hasson will portray entirely new characters.
