This is an exciting, exciting time for young Lauryn Kahn.
Kahn was director Adam McKay’s assistant for the last four years and now her first script, HE’S FUCKIN’ PERFECT, is this close to having Emma Stone star. And the script sold for a cool $1 million dollars. Not bad for an assistant, right?
Stone is in talks to star in PERFECT which will be produced by Gary Sanchez’s McKay and Will Ferrell. Gary Sanchez helped Kahn shape the script during the writing process before it sold to Fox 2000 after a surprising and quick bidding war.
The movie is about “a social media savvy girl who is pessimistic about love and vets her friends’ dates to find flaws. When that process leads her to uncover the perfect guy, she decides to use her internet research skills to turn herself into his perfect match.” This is a part that Stone would nail. Then again, what part hasn’t she nailed? While she isn’t officially signed on, sources say it looks likely. It would make sense because the script was written with her in mind. It was sent directly to her by Gary Sanchez but was then leaked, a move that got four major studios involved, all of which wanted the movie.
Stone just wrapped THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN is is currently working on GANGSTER SQUAD with director Ruben Fleischer. Seeing as she doesn’t have a next film plotted out, HE’S FUCKIN’ PERFECT could fall into place perfectly.
