Who’s In It:

Anton Yelchin, Colin Farrell, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, David Tennant, and Toni Collette star.

If You Like…:

Non sparkly vampires, people exploding, running people over in minivans, slightly homoerotic cosplay, former Doctors in tight pants, or blowing up houses, you’ll like this.

Special Features:

Peter Vincent: Come Swim in My Mind is an intro to Peter Vincent’s Vegas Stage show, called Fright Night, hosted by David Tennant in character.

The Official “How to Make a Funny Vampire Movie” Guide is a making of featurette with a slightly more clever name than most, but still features your standard interviews with cast an crew.

There are five deleted and extended scenes and the complete Squid Man: Extended & Uncut, which is the superhero movie that Charley watches during the film. Lastly, there are bloopers and a music video by Kid Cudi from the film’s soundtrack.

The Technical Gist

Watching this in blu-ray was almost like watching it for the first time, because I could actually see what was going on, unlike what happened when I reviewed the film initially. I liked the film a little more this time than I did on my first time out. Other than that, everything is top notch, as it usually is with Disney blu-rays.

The Verdict

This film merits watching because it’s one of the better remakes of 2011, and while it strikes a different tone than the 1985 original, I still think that as long as you’re not a hard core devotee to Tod Holland’s film, you’ll find something to like about FRIGHT NIGHT. QUEUE IT.
