What’s Going On?
The landmark UK comedy which has served as inspiration for the American version of The Office, shows like PARKS AND RECREATION and MODERN FAMILY, and Steve Carrell’s career, among other things, THE OFFICE follows the daily goings on of the Wernham Hogg Paper Company in a dreary English town called Slough. The company is managed by David Brent and the ‘Assistant To The Regional Manager’, Gareth Keenan, who is always looking for ways to advance his career regardless of who he has to step on to do so. The other central characters in the series are likeably thirtysomething salesman Tim Canterbury and the company secretary, Dawn Tinsley.
Who’s In It:
Ricky Gervais stars as David Brent, Martin Freeman (aka Bilbo Baggins) is Tim, and Mackenzie Crook and Lucy Davis also star.

Special Features:
This set includes all of the original special features from the previous incarnation of the series on DVD, including the documentary “How I Made The Office”, deleted scenes, outtakes, commentary and more.
New to this set are “Comedy Connections” a new documentary focusing more specifically on the original series and its inception, the original pilot, shot all the way back in 1998. There are also introductions to the first series episodes with people like Matthew Perry, Ben Stiller and Hugh Jackman, only it’s kind of a bummer that they are tied to the episodes whether or not you want them to be.
The Technical Gist
Solid.
The Verdict
If you have the previous boxed set, I would UPGRADE and if you don’t own it yet, BUY IT and get yourself schooled on a hugely influential and incredibly hilarious series.
