TRAILER: See Blunt and Segel’s FIVE-YEAR ENGAGEMENT

Ok. I love a good comedy centered around wedding madness as much as the next person. But someone needs to tell me why these two crazy kids don’t just get married immediately and live happily ever after. Oh, yes. Because then there’d be no story. This reason holds me back from giving Jason Segel and Emily Blunt’s THE FIVE-YEAR ENGAGEMENT a stamp of approval. However, I’m madly in love with this pair (and with co-writer Nicholas Stoller) that I will leave my cynicism at the door. Plus, that apron Segel sports is just positively charming.

In the film, Segel and Blunt play Tom and Victoria, a couple that decides to get engaged. As things begin to change in their lives, the wedding gets pushed back further and further until – you guessed it – they are forced to deal with problems in their relationship.

Here’s the official synopsis:

The director and writer/star of Forgetting Sarah Marshall reteam for the irreverent comedy The Five-Year Engagement.  Beginning where most romantic comedies end, the new film from director Nicholas Stoller, producer Judd Apatow (Knocked Up, The 40-Year-Old Virgin) and Rodney Rothman (Get Him to the Greek) looks at what happens when an engaged couple, Jason Segel and Emily Blunt, keeps getting tripped up on the long walk down the aisle.  The film was written by Segel and Stoller.

The film opens on April 27. Make sure you “Save the Date!” Thanks Yahoo! Movies.
