That trailer above is the latest look at Will Ferrell’s CASA DE MI PADRE, a completely Spanish-language comedy that shows some real promise. I have to commend Ferrell for sticking with Spanish for the entire film. That might scare away some audience members but screw those people who don’t want to read subtitles.
Despite the different language, a lot of the footage here looks like classic Ferrell. Awkward characters, over-the-top action and Ferrell somehow snagging a beautiful woman. He’s a lucky, lucky dude. The supporting cast is awesome too, consisting of Diego Luna, Genesis Rodriguez and Gael Garcia Bernal.
I like comedians who take risks and try new things. CASA DE MI PADRE definitely looks new. The film opens March 16th. Pop over to Yahoo to see this in HD.

Armando Alvarez has lived and worked on his father’s ranch in Mexico his entire life. As the ranch encounters financial difficulties, Armando’s younger brother Raul, shows up with his new fiancee, Sonia. It seems that Raul’s success as an international businessman means the ranch’s troubles are over as he pledges to settle all debts. But when Armando falls for Sonia, and Raul’s business dealings turn out to be criminal, all hell breaks loose as they find themselves in a war with Mexico’s most feared drug lord, the mighty Onza.

Will Ferrett is a talentless hack with no skills whatsoever. I have seen funnier things at the scene of a crime. How he keeps getting work is beyond belief.
