The poster above is the newest international one sheet for Peter Berg’s upcoming BATTLESHIP. The movie, about aliens and human duking it out in the middle of the ocean, hits theaters May 18th. Overseas, the film will premiere on April 11th and 18th. It’s one of the few times that a big blockbuster doesn’t open in America first.
The poster isn’t anything spectacular, it doesn’t even really tell you what the film is about. No worries, I’m sure the mass amount of upcoming ads will do that. Universal is hoping BATTLESHIP becomes a big hit, spawning sequels and maybe even board games (…wait).
One question still remains: will BATTLESHIP be the TRANSFORMERS clone it looks like or will it bring something new? Berg has turned in promising work before but everything about this movie, from the trailers to the posters, doesn’t instill much hope.
