Josh Duhamel: No One Is Returning For TRANSFORMERS 4

Those hoping for more Duhamel, LaBoeuf and Tyrese are in for a disappointment.

Josh Duhamel told E! that none of the original cast are returning for Michael Bay’s just-announced TRANSFORMERS 4 (or TRANS4ORMERS, if you will). This would make sense, seeing as how the fourth film in the robot-smashing franchise is being planned as a reboot. While it’ll retain Michael Bay, the story will be told from a different perspective.

Here’s what Duhamel told E!:

“I don’t think anybody’s doing it. I know Shia [LaBoeuf]‘s not doing it. I don’t think Tyrese or Rosie [Huntington-Whiteley] or anybody else is doing it.”

And:

“Whenever these movies make that much money they’re going to make as many as they can. [But] I haven’t heard anything about it. They haven’t called me.”

It doesn’t sound like he’s that bummed about it. Probably because his character (and many of the humans) were flat, underused props in the previous films. At the end of the day, audiences want to see robots destroy each other with as little human intervention as possible. Okay, we’ll take a little Shia or a little Rose Huntington-Whiteley but don’t let them get in the way of pure robotic carnage.

Does this mean the film will rely solely on Autobots and Decepticons for drama? Will there be any humans? I’m assuming there has to be some but, don’t worry, I’m sure they won’t get in the way of the explosions.
