Todd Phillips stays at Warner Brothers

With the success of DUE DATE, THE HANGOVER, and that xerox of THE HANGOVER, THE HANGOVER 2, Todd Phillips has gained enough clout to go pretty much anywhere, but the director decided to stay with Warner Brothers, agreeing to a first-look deal through 2013.

According to Warner’s Jeff Rubinov, Phillips has been, ”a cherished member of the Warner family for a long time, and the comedic genius he’s brought to the big screen has made for an extraordinarily successful partnership.”

Up next for Phillips? Well, THE HANGOVER 3 is on his docket, but his production company, Green Hat, also has 4 films presently in development according to Cinemablend.

Those projects include both a drug running, and a gun running comedy, a film based on a series of Funny or Die bits known as MILLION DOLLAR STRONG, and something called THE ISLAND, which will presumably not be a remake of the 2005 Michael Bay film of the same name (it’s just too soon for that classic to be re-imagined).

THE HANGOVER 3 should begin filming this year, the plot centers on… you know, if you don’t know by now what the plot of a HANGOVER movie centers on, I can do nothing for you. Everybody in the cast is getting P-A-I-D, someone likely gets lost, and there is a zoo animal component. The end.
