It ain’t easy being red and blue.
The latest trailer for Marc Webb’s THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN shows us that Peter Parker has got a lot on his mind. He’s being chased by the cops, he’s trying to win over the heart of Gwen Stacy and there’s the secret past of his father that keeps irking him. Meanwhile he has to do battle with the villainous Lizard too. Gosh, I thought being a superhero was nothing but fun.
This new preview is much, much better than the first one. While many will still need convincing, this looks pretty strong. The tone feels different from Raimi’s SPIDER-MAN trilogy and the subplots about the cops and Peter’s past don’t feel as silly (at least not to me). The big picture is coming into focus and I like what I see.
