NBC will air, yet another, live episode of 30 ROCK on April 26th. This is the second time the show will go live, following last seasons mostly funny and wildly successful live episode.
No word yet on plot details or guest stars, but I imagine we’ll have more than a few current and former SNL cast members to join Tina Fey, Tracy Morgan, and frequent SNL host Alec Baldwin — last years episode featured Chris Parnell, Rachel Dratch, Bill Hader, and Julia Louis-Dreyfuss, as well as non SNL alums Jon Hamm and Matt Damon.
Personally, I don’t get what the big deal is about these live shows. The history of TV is flush with live shows (even recent history, if you recall the early 90s Fox sitcom ROC with Charles S. Dutton, that was all live for awhile) and many shows have pulled off these one off gimmick episodes, where everyone pretends that something wild or “dangerous” is going to happen. Did anything “insane” happen last time 30 ROCK did it? No, and nothing will happen on this latest live episode, so long as they don’t let Morgan do his stand-up act.
