After GONE BABY GONE and THE TOWN, Ben Affleck is known as one of the best young directors in Hollywood. That’s why it feels a little odd to hear about him only starring in a feature. Not co-writing? Not directing? Jeez Ben, taking it easy?
THR says Affleck will star in the political comedy NATHAN DECKER. The picture was written by Dan Fogelman (CRAZY, STUPID, LOVE) and was originally going to star Tom Cruise, who has since left the project entirely. The film is about a politician who gets caught in an affair and returns to his hometown to “confront his past”.
Speaking of directors, NATHAN DECKER doesn’t have one. Warner Bros is currently on the hunt for someone to helm the film. I’d recommend Affleck but he’s got a full plate. Not only is he finishing up work on his political thriller ARGO, he’s also sorta-kinda attached to the adaptation of Stephen King’s THE STAND, though things have been quiet on that front lately.Powered by Sidelines
