TRAILER: Tim Burton Returns To His Roots With FRANKENWEENIE

It’s been a long time since a Tim Burton film felt truly original. CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, ALICE IN WONDERLAND, SWEENEY TODD – all these movies were based on material that Burton didn’t create. Sadly, none of them were very good. FRANKENWEENIE, on the other hand, is based on a short film that Burton created decades ago. So it’s no coincidence that this is his best-looking movie in ages.

The first trailer for FRANKENWEENIE just sets up the story and shows some of the fun the film with have with the undead pooch. I’m excited to see an entirely black-and-white animated film. I’m also exited to hear the voices of Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara and Martin Short. But I’m especially excited to see that cute puppy get into trouble. He’s so damm adorable, even if he is a monstrous creation.

FRANKENWEENIE opens October 5th. See the trailer in HD over at Yahoo.
