The lovely and talkative Vince Vaughn popped by CONAN last night to schmooze with the talk show host and – surprise, surprise – premiere a new trailer for his upcoming comedy THE WATCH. Here’s another surprise: it doesn’t look that bad.
The film, also starring Ben Stiller, Jonah Hill and Richard Ayode, is about a neighborhood watch group that uncovers an alien invasion in their own backyard. Sort of like an Americanized, fast-talking version of ATTACK THE BLOCK. The trailer showcases some of the visual gags (a cow blows up) and some of the typical Still/Vaughn/Hill comedy (verbally abusing a young child).
The movie has promise, mostly because it’s directed by LONELY ISLAND member Akiva Schaffer. I was expecting to groan and roll my eyes at this but I rather enjoyed it. Count me in.
