HE’S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU, WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU’RE EXPECTING and now MEN ARE FROM MARS, WOMEN ARE FROM VENUS.
It’s not surprising to learn that Lionsgate Summit are creating a movie based on the popular John Gray book. However, it is a little surprising to hear that Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon will headline the picture. Witherspoon has starred in romantic comedies before (most recently with THIS MEANS WAR) but she’s not the first name you’d think of for a project like this. Maybe she’s just the top-billed star in an ensemble. Maybe she’ll be joined by other Academy Award winners. What are the chances of Denzel Washington, Christopher Plummer and Kate Winslet joining the cast?
Yeah, probably pretty slim.
MEN ARE FROM MARS, WOMEN ARE FROM VENUS is one of the most successful relationship books in existence. Released in 1992, the book is all about the difference between genders. Despite popular belief, it has nothing to do with extra-terrestrials. Damn.
The film will be helmed by commercial director Bryan Buckley. Harry Elfont and Deborah Kaplan will write the adaptation.
We wish Reese luck but we’re hoping that she takes on a few hefty dramas after this one.
