Perhaps taking a page from the PROMETHEUS/ DARK KNIGHT RISES book of viral marketing, the studio in charge of the new ROBOCOP remake has released a fantastic viral video that gives us a tiny glimpse at the highly anticipated feature. Well, at least some of the gadgetry featured in the José Padilha (ELITE SQUAD) directed film. The sight of a shoulder has never been more intriguing and exciting!
Written by Nick Schenk (GRAN TORINO), James Vanderbilt (THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN), and Joshua Zetumer, ROBOCOP stars Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman, Hugh Laurie, Abbie Cornish, and Joel Kinnaman in the titular role.
The phony ad for mega-conglomorate Omnicorp touts the company’s private military drones as products for use in American cities. As my favorite Twitter bot (and character from the 1987 original film) would say, “I’d buy that for a dollar!”
