It’s really hard to describe this six-minute international trailer for Tom Tykwer and The Wachowskis’ CLOUD ATLAS…but that’s kind of the point, isn’t it? I have no clue what’s going on here but I’m still moved and swept off my feet. This looks like an exciting, emotional and fascinating experience. I want to see this thing, like, now.
What I do understand is that the Wachowskis and Tykwer have created a massive, sprawling, time-bending sci-fi that incorporates themes such as love, loss, death, hope, etc, etc, etc. In short: this thing is going to be as big as it gets.
And while it’s hard to get my head around the story with this trailer, the visuals alone have sold me 100%. Try and watch this and not be impressed. It’s not going to happen, this looks fantasic.
CLOUD ATLAS stars Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Hugh Grant, Ben Whishaw, Jim Broadbent, James D’Arcy, Doona Bae, Susan Sarandon and more. The film opens October 26th.
