While GAME OF THRONES and GIRLS draw a lot of attention I think BOARDWALK EMPIRE might be the best show on HBO. It might not have the most likable characters (it ain’t easy being a gangster) but, for my money, it tells the most interesting story. With its newest season approaching, HBO has been advertising the return and, damn, are they plenty of reasons to be excited.
Season three of the crime drama takes us deeper into the 1920′s as the economy booms and the criminal underworld explodes. Nucky Thompson, once again the undisputed king of Atlantic City, is now butting heads with Gyp Rosetti (played by the always-wonderful Bobby Cannavale). This rivalry seems to spread like a virus, causing drama for everyone else in the series. The trailer gives us glimpses of all our favorites, including Al Capone, Arnold Rothstein and Nucky’s wife, Margaret Schroeder (Kelly MacDonald).
