I don’t know about you, but I had forgotten about the WORLD OF WARCRAFT movie. It’s one of those projects that sounds great but doesn’t move with much speed and seems destined to forever sit on the backburner.
Apparently Legendary Pictures doesn’t feel the same way. They just brought on Charles Leavitt (BLOOD DIAMOND, K-PAX) to rewrite the film, which lost director Sam Raimi awhile ago. Variety says that Legendary, inspired by Leavitt’s take on the story, will now search for a new director to take on the fantasy epic.
Surely you know about WORLD OF WARCRAFT. The massively popular game has millions of members who do battle as orcs, human, dwarves and other fantasy archetypes. Those are two of the game’s characters up top. I’d love to see them on the big screen.
Thanks to Variety for the news.
