HANGOVER 3 Filming To Disrupt Orange County Freeway; Angers Costa Mesa

America’s beloved wolfpack is on one city’s shit list. According to LAist, filming of THE HANGOVER 3 will shut down busy sections of the Corona del Mar (73) Freeway this weekend. And it seems to be ruffling some feathers.

Celebrity stalkers and paparrazi take note! Caltrans granted permits to close the southbound 73 Freeway from the 405 Freeway south to the Costa Mesa (55) Freeway from 5 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday as well as on Sunday between the 73 Freeway interchange to Jamboree Road from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Northbound lanes of the 73 Freeway will be shut down along a one-mile stretch from Jamboree Road to Campus Drive from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and again on Sunday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The reason why people are so up in arms about the filming is that the closure on Saturday,

“is expected to dump heavy traffic onto surface streets in the area, because there is no ramp from the southbound San Diego Freeway to the southbound Costa Mesa Freeway,” reports City News Service.

Costa Mesa Mayor Pro Tem Jim Righeimer called the closures “outrageous” and told CNS, “They’re going to disrupt traffic on the 73 so that they can film a movie, which the citizens of Costa Mesa get nothing out of.”

So what could Warner Bros. do to appease the people of Costa Mesa? “They should throw us a bone or something,” says Righeimer, adding, “Have the actors show up somewhere or something.”

So could My 3rd husband Bradley Cooper and his baby blues help smooth over this minor kerfluffle? Should Zach Galifianakis do a comedy special open exclusively to Costa Mesa citizens? Should Ed Helms go house to house on an apology tour, thus making him more endearing? What say you?

It seems to me the studio pays cities for permits to shoot there. If they paid their dues, then what’s the problem? Sure it’s a hassle, but this is LA – we are used to this. If we can survived Orange County’s most lucrative import (cough, cough, THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ORANGE COUNTY), we can survive this minor traffic hiccup. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be setting up my deck chair and a tent on the side of this freeway so I can stage a meet-cute with B. Coops.

THE HANGOVER 3 hits theaters on May 24, 2013.
