What’s Going On?

Official Synopsis:

RVBX: TEN YEARS OF RED VS. BLUE is the definitive collection of the hilarious first decade of the Blood Gulch crew and a landmark release on Blu-ray. This 14-disc boxed set collects the full first ten seasons of RED VS. BLUE episodes with newly remastered surround sound audio, plus additional videos and miniseries, hours of special features, interviews, and behind-the-scenes footage.

Who’s In It:

• Burnie Burns Williams
• Jason Saldaña
• Gustavo Sorola
• Geoff Lazer Ramsey

Among many others, including Elijah Wood in the Tenth season.

If You Like…:

You know already if you like this show. You’ve played Halo from the beginning and you’ve been with Rooster Teeth from the beginning too. If you like things that are just plain funny, this is worth every penny.

Special Features:

There are tons of special features spread all throughout the 14 disk set. Among the sections of the set are:

  • Seasons 1-5: The Blood Gulch Chronicles
  • Seasons 6-8: The Recollection
  • Seasons 9-10: Project Freelancer
  • Grifball Volumes 1 & 2
  • Blood Gulch Bonus Content
  • Behind the Scenes of Red vs. Blue

The Technical Gist:

Video codec: MPEG-4 AVC
Video resolution: 1080p
Aspect ratio: 1.78:1

English: Dolby Digital 5.1

If you’ve seen this show, you know that the first few seasons can look a little rough at times. Once it gets past the fifth season, it becomes a lot more professional looking and becomes a downright awesome action show.

The Verdict:

Red vs. Blue fans can be pretty rabid. That kind of passion is the only thing that can explain how a few drunk guys playing video games would go on to create a multi-million dollar business and become just as popular as the Halo phenomenon itself.  As far as packed sets go, this might be the epitome of them. If you’re a casual fan I don’t know that this box set would be a great investment because a lot of the features here may be lost on you. If you are a fan, then this is a definite must have. It might seem a bit pricey, but RT fans won’t mind. BUY IT
