The controversial and moving documentary BULLY is making its Blu-ray debut. The film itself, which tracks the lives of children being harassed and the effect it has on their families and communities, inspired a campaign called “The Bully Project”, which had the film screened by more than 250,000 educators and professionals as a tool to spread the word about the harms of bullying.
From Sundance Award-winning filmmaker, Lee Hirsch, comes a beautifully cinematic, character-driven documentary following five kids and families over the course of a school year. Offering insight into different facets of America’s bullying crisis, the stories include two families who have lost children to suicide and a mother awaiting the fate of her 14-year-old daughter, who has been incarcerated after bringing a gun on her school bus. With an intimate and often shocking glimpse into homes, classrooms, cafeterias and principals’ offices, BULLY is a powerful and inspiring film that every educator, parent and teenager should see.
The film, which was expertly crafted enough to garner a great review from our own Manny Lozano, will be hitting shelves in a Blu-ray and DVD combo pack on February 12, 2013. From director Lee Hirsch, witness the documentary that needs to be seen.
